Lead a small DevOps team embedded with an airline customer, designing and maintaining AWS infrastructure using Terraform while staying hands‑on with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud‑native deployments.
About us:
Amach is an industry-leading technology driven company with headquarters located in Dublin and remote teams in UK and Europe.
Our blended teams of local and nearshore talent are optimised to deliver high quality and collaborative solutions.
Founded in 2013, Amach was created to solve a specific problem in aviation: too much complexity, too little usable intelligence. We help airlines modernise their operating model using cloud, data and Al-delivered by teams with deep aviation domain expertise.
Our goal is to maximize airlines' operational efficiency by optimizing resource use, reduce costs and increase customer experience and satisfaction.
We are seeking a DevOps Lead to be embedded with our customer, where you will lead a small DevOps team while remaining hands-on with infrastructure and deployment initiatives. You will work closely with the customer's technical teams and stakeholders to design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and Terraform, combining strategic leadership with direct technical contribution. This is a fully remote role offering the opportunity to drive DevOps excellence and innovation within a dynamic aviation software environment.
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Lead and mentor a small DevOps team embedded with the customer, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Design, implement and maintain AWS infrastructure and Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code solutions that support the customer's mission-critical systems
- Collaborate with the customer's stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements, plan deployments and ensure alignment with business objectives
- Contribute hands-on to infrastructure projects, deployment pipelines and operational tasks alongside your team
- Drive best practices around infrastructure automation, monitoring, security and disaster recovery across the customer's platforms
- Manage communication with the customer's stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks and recommendations
- Identify and implement improvements to the customer's DevOps processes, tooling and infrastructure efficiency
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership of technical teams
- Strong proficiency with AWS services and hands-on experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience working in customer-facing or embedded roles within technical teams
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, containerization and cloud-native application deployment
Nice to have:
- Experience in the aviation, travel or highly regulated industries
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- Knowledge of data pipeline and AI infrastructure considerations
What’s in it for you:
- An opportunity to join a fast-growing company
- Options for career advancement
- Learning and development opportunities
- Flexible working environment
- Competitive salaries based on experience
