Job description_

About the Role_

This is a hands-on, fixed-term contract role sitting at the intersection of Platform Engineering and Cloud Networking. The successful candidate will design, build, and standardise AWS-native networking capabilities as part of a high-priority Cloud Networking initiative, replacing legacy controls with scalable, policy-driven patterns and integrating networking into platform pipelines. This is a senior-level position requiring an engineer who operates at the top end of the market, combining deep AWS networking expertise with strong infrastructure-as-code practice and the communication skills to partner effectively across engineering and networking disciplines.

A day in this role_

  • Design and deliver cloud networking patterns across AWS CloudWAN, VPC Lattice, and AWS Network Firewall.
  • Replace legacy network controls (e.g. NACLs) with centralised, policy-driven approaches that scale across the organisation.
  • Build reusable, well-documented Terraform modules for network provisioning, policy enforcement, and governance.
  • Integrate networking capabilities into platform pipelines and service onboarding patterns.
  • Collaborate closely with the Networking team to align on routing design, security policies, and engineering standards.

The expertise requested_

  • Deep expertise in AWS networking: VPC design, routing (BGP/static), CloudWAN, Network Firewall, and VPC Lattice.
  • Advanced Terraform skills, including writing and maintaining reusable modules at enterprise scale.
  • Strong cloud networking fundamentals: DNS, load balancing, firewall policy, and east-west/north-south traffic patterns.
  • Demonstrable experience working across both DevOps/Platform Engineering and Networking domains.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and integrating infrastructure-as-code into automated delivery workflows.

Desired or nice to have expertise_

  • AWS PrivateLink, Route 53 Resolver, or AWS Control Tower experience.
  • Network observability tooling experience (e.g. VPC Flow Logs, CloudWatch, network performance monitoring).
  • Exposure to zero-trust networking principles or service mesh architectures.

Our Core values are focus to inclusion and diversity, all qualified applicants will be considered for employment and will go thru a fair recruitment process regardless of their race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or disability status.
