Summary

Mid-level DevOps & Release Engineer supporting the planning, governance and controlled execution of Salesforce releases for a global Sales Cloud + Agentforce Revenue Management (CPQ) rollout across multiple countries. Day to day: managing deployments across dev/QA/SIT/UAT/production using tools like Gearset or Copado with Azure DevOps CI/CD, plus cutover planning, go-live readiness and hypercare.

My client is currently looking for a permanent DevOps & Release Engineer (Salesforce) who will support the planning, coordination, governance and execution of Salesforce releases.

This is a hands-on, mid-level role focused on release management, deployment coordination, environment readiness, cutover planning and controlled promotion of change across environments. The role is not a system administration role, although a good understanding of Salesforce metadata, environments and deployment tooling is required.

The role will help ensure Salesforce changes are delivered in a controlled, traceable and repeatable way, reducing deployment risk and supporting the transition from partner-led delivery in Release 1 to increased client ownership from Release 2 onwards.

My client is implementing Salesforce Sales Cloud and the CPQ module of Agentforce Revenue Management as its global CPQ/CRM platform across multiple countries. The platform will support the Lead to Order journey, including opportunity management, quote request intake, pricing, configuration, approvals, quote generation and validated order handoff to ERP.

A delivery partner will lead the initial build in Release 1, with the client progressively taking ownership of release management, platform operation and continuous improvement in future releases.

This role will support the controlled movement of Salesforce changes across development, QA, SIT, UAT and production environments, coordinating release readiness across technical teams, delivery partners, business stakeholders, testers, change teams and operational support.

Required Experience & Capabilities
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in a Salesforce release, deployment, DevOps or platform delivery role.
  • Experience managing Salesforce releases across multiple environments, including development, test/SIT, UAT and production.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce release management principles, including release planning, governance, change control, deployment planning and production release discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce deployment and DevOps tools such as Gearset, Copado or similar.
  • Experience working with source control and CI/CD practices, ideally using Azure DevOps or a similar platform.
  • Good understanding of Salesforce metadata, deployment dependencies, environment differences and release promotion risks.
  • Experience supporting cutovers, go-live readiness and post-release validation, including deployment checklists, smoke testing and hypercare support.
  • Ability to coordinate release activities across developers, testers, delivery partners, business stakeholders, change teams and operational support teams.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including release notes, deployment evidence, readiness updates and stakeholder communications.
  • Good understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud, with exposure to Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud / Agentforce Revenue Management, or Lead to Order processes desirable.
Technical Environment
  • Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Agentforce Revenue Management
  • Azure-based version control and CI/CD pipelines
  • DevOps tools such as Gearset, Copado, or similar
  • Integration with ERP, MDM/PIM systems
  • Jira or similar delivery tracking tools
