DevOps & Security Engineer

Summary

Maintains Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and enforces secure coding practices by scanning code for vulnerabilities before deployment.

DevOps Engineer (with Security Engineering)

Our client is a well-regarded institutional investor with a mature, in-house technology function delivering complex data and investment solutions. They're looking for a DevOps Engineer to support their Azure DevOps platform - helping development teams build, test, and deploy code reliably.

This role also carries a DevSecOps dimension. One team writes the code; this person helps make sure it's secure before it deploys, running it through scanning tools, catching vulnerabilities, and locking down access and permissions at the application layer. This is about secure accounts, secure software, and secure code practice, not network security.

The Role

  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and release/deployment processes for development teams
  • Support and grow the Azure DevOps platform, including some involvement in Fabric and related data tooling
  • Run code through security scanning tools (e.g. SonarQube, GitHub Security) and flag vulnerabilities before release
  • Apply security best practice at the application layer - secure accounts, up-to-date software, least-privilege permissions
  • Build automation for internal engineering processes
  • Gather, analyse, and document technical and operational requirements from key stakeholders
  • Contribute to team workshops and share knowledge across the function
  • Strong development background, ideally with C# and SQL
  • Strong Python and PowerShell skills
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines and CI/CD
  • Atlassian Confluence, Jira, and related tools
  • Ability to write clear, concise, maintainable code
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, or Snowflake
  • Application security tools (SonarQube, GitHub Security) and an interest in DevSecOps
  • Testing frameworks/tools (Xray, Zephyr)
  • Power BI reporting and deployment
  • Scheduling systems, ideally JAMS

This is a chance to join a close-knit engineering team in a regulated, data-intensive environment, supporting the platform developers rely on every day.
