Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevSecOps / Platform Operations Tech Lead to lead Day 2 operations for enterprise data and AI platforms running on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) within a government data centre environment.
The successful candidate will act as the primary technical authority for ongoing platform operations, leading a team of technical consultants while ensuring platform stability, security, availability and SLA performance. The role requires strong hands-on OpenShift expertise, IT service management experience, technical leadership and client-facing communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Day 2 operations for Red Hat OpenShift-based platforms, ensuring platform stability, availability and performance.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for incidents, problems, service requests and change requests.
- Manage and coordinate CVE vulnerability remediation, patching cycles and platform upgrades.
- Establish and maintain operational runbooks, playbooks and SOPs.
- Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks and operational risks.
- Oversee user onboarding, offboarding, access provisioning and deprovisioning in accordance with IAM and security requirements.
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of operations consultants / engineers.
- Manage team workload across incidents, service requests, change requests, patching and proactive maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with project delivery teams to ensure smooth transition of new solutions into steady-state operations.
- Work with technology partners and vendors on product lifecycle, platform upgrades, EOS risks and security/compliance issues.
- Prepare and present operational health reports, incident post-mortems and service review materials to client stakeholders.
- Ensure operational changes comply with governance, change-management and security requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technology operations, platform engineering, DevSecOps, cloud/platform support or technical consulting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), including:Cluster managementWorkload deploymentPlatform patchingPlatform upgradesDay 2 operations
- Red Hat OpenShift certification or equivalent OCP certification.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical consultants, platform engineers or operations teams.
- Strong understanding of ITSM, including:Incident ManagementProblem ManagementChange ManagementService Request Management
- Experience managing CVE vulnerability assessments, patch planning and platform upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
