About the Role
RydeTrans keeps East Bay communities moving — including riders who depend on our paratransit service to get to work, medical appointments, and everyday life.
As a Mechanic in our Berkeley shop, you'll keep our fleet safe and road-ready by performing maintenance and repairs on paratransit buses, vans, shuttle buses, and other fleet vehicles. As RydeTrans continues to grow, you'll help support both our existing fleet and the introduction of new vehicle platforms and technologies.
What You’ll Do

Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline engines and related systems on buses, vans, and shuttles.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Use a range of scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance and safety inspections.
- Respond to road calls in the Hayward area.
- Keep accurate repair and inspection records (Word, Outlook, and maintenance systems).
- Work both on your own and as part of the team.
