Diesel Mechanic

Scrap Management Industries inc. is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Our company runs a high-volume freight operation, and we rely on professional mechanics to keep our trucks DOT-compliant, road-ready, and running at peak performance. Duties/Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, and trailer systems
• Perform routine maintenance, including PMs, oil changes, tire checks, and brake services
• Utilize diagnostic tools (Cummins Insite, Noregon, etc.) to troubleshoot issues and complete repairs
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and repair records (digitally)
• Coordinate with dispatch and operations manager for truck downtime and service scheduling
• Respond to occasional roadside service calls or after-hours breakdowns (rotation basis)
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
