Diesel Technician
Job Summary:
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner. This role ensures that vehicles are serviced to manufacturer standards and customer expectations, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and dealership success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
- Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend appropriate repairs
- Conduct inspections and test drives to verify repairs and identify additional issues
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks
- Utilize diagnostic tools and resources to troubleshoot vehicle systems
- Communicate effectively with the service advisor regarding vehicle status and recommended repairs
- Document work performed and maintain accurate repair records in compliance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines
- Ensure all repairs and services comply with safety and quality standards
- Stay up-to-date with factory training and certifications as required
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and follow all safety procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Automotive Technician certification (ASE) preferred
- 1–3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools, scanners, and basic hand tools
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
