Job Summary:

The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner. This role ensures that vehicles are serviced to manufacturer standards and customer expectations, contributing to overall customer satisfaction and dealership success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
  • Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend appropriate repairs
  • Conduct inspections and test drives to verify repairs and identify additional issues
  • Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake checks
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and resources to troubleshoot vehicle systems
  • Communicate effectively with the service advisor regarding vehicle status and recommended repairs
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate repair records in compliance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure all repairs and services comply with safety and quality standards
  • Stay up-to-date with factory training and certifications as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and follow all safety procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Automotive Technician certification (ASE) preferred
  • 1–3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to operate diagnostic tools, scanners, and basic hand tools
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
