Diesel Technician

To support the growth of Summit Bobcat, we are hiring an experienced diesel mechanic to work in Poughkeepsie, New York. This position requires 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy or compact equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, diagnosing issues, and performing repairs with minimal supervision.
Salary Range:
$32 - $40 per hour.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic, hydro-static, electrical, and engine systems.
- Conduct system rebuilds and overhauls as needed.
- Accurately complete work orders and maintain service records.
- Work collaboratively with the Parts, Service, Sales, and Rental departments to ensure timely repairs and support.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience working on heavy or compact equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, hydro-static, electrical, and engine systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for diagnostics and reporting.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
