Digital Ad Operations Specialist (SoCast Reach)
NewBe an early applicantLocation: Toronto, ON (Hybrid / Remote options available)
SoCast is a leading software and marketing platform that empowers broadcast and media companies to succeed digitally. Our digital advertising extension, SoCast Reach, allows radio stations to sell and execute high-performing digital marketing campaigns for local and regional advertisers.
Position Overview
We are looking for an analytical, disciplined, and technically skilled Digital Ad Operations Specialist to own the end-to-end execution, tracking, and optimization of multi-channel digital advertising campaigns.
In this role, you will be the technical engine room of SoCast Reach. You will translate client goals into custom omnichannel proposals, build and launch campaigns across Facebook, Google, and major Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs), build real-time monitoring dashboards, and ensure 100% accurate, on-time delivery. Additionally, you will partner closely with our Account Managers and sales teams, acting as the technical expert who translates campaign data into actionable sales insights to drive client renewals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Campaign Management & Launch (40%)
End-to-End Build & Execution: Book, setup, and launch digital campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube), Meta Ads Manager, and programmatic DSPs (e.g., DV360, StackAdapt, Simpli.fi, Illumin, Hivestack).
Tracking & Tagging Infrastructure: Implement custom conversion tracking scripts, pixels, and events across client websites using Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Ensure 100% accuracy before launching campaigns.
Pacing & Quality Control: Perform daily pacing checks to ensure client budgets are utilized efficiently and campaigns are scaling correctly without under/over-spending.
2. Media Planning & Proposal Construction (20%)
Omnichannel Media Planning: Analyze client briefs to develop tactical digital strategies and custom media plans.
Proposal Creation: Build strategic, visually clear proposals and budget distribution sheets to assist radio salespeople in securing digital advertising revenue.
3. Advanced Optimization & Dashboarding (25%)
Data-Driven Optimizations: Continuously optimize campaigns based on structural metrics (placement exclusions, bidding adjustments, search query filtering, geo-targeting, and audience exclusion parameters) rather than just creative refreshes.
Custom Reporting & Dashboarding: Build client-facing performance dashboards (via Looker Studio or similar tools) to monitor campaigns in real-time, highlighting key performance metrics and ROI.
4. Account Management & Sales Collaboration (15%)
Account Team Partnership: Work in tight lockstep with our Account Management team (managing timelines, flagging issues early, and ensuring client campaigns deliver on schedule).
Technical Translation: Act as a technical advisor to non-technical radio sales executives, explaining programmatic bidding, attribution, and optimization strategies in simple, high-impact language.
Renewal Support: Provide end-of-campaign post-mortems and story-driven reports that demonstrate real ROI to advertisers, directly supporting the sales team during renewal cycles.
Requirements
Required Technical Qualifications
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in digital ad operations or campaign management, preferably within an advertising agency.
SEM & Paid Social Mastery: Deep, direct platform experience inside Google Ads Manager and Meta Ads Manager.
Programmatic DSP Knowledge: Proven hands-on experience using at least one major programmatic DSP (e.g., Google DV360, StackAdapt, Simpli.fi, Illumin).
Ad Tech Infrastructure: Solid experience setting up and debugging tracking via Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics 4 (GA4), and tracking pixels.
Analytical Tooling: Proficient in using Google Looker Studio (or equivalent BI tools) to create performance dashboards. Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data cleaning).
Key Behavioral Competencies
Uncompromising Accountability: Strong organizational habits with a track record of meeting deadlines and managing schedules without constant oversight.
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication skills, with a focus on professional, proactive teamwork.
The "Translator" Ability: Able to explain complex ad technologies clearly and simply to internal teams and external sales partners.
