Digital Agency Project Manager - PPC, SEO, CRO

Summary

Digital Agency Project Manager

Full-time Freelance | Remote | Ongoing Contract

We are looking for an experienced Digital Agency Project Manager to take ownership of client delivery across digital marketing services - including SEO, PPC, CRO, and creative projects - ensuring cohesive strategy, timely execution, and outstanding client outcomes.

This is an ongoing freelance position requiring 5 hours/day minimum, with full-time availability strongly preferred. You may be based anywhere, but you must maintain overlap with UK business hours to attend daily team Google Meet call and multiple client calls per week.

This is not a purely administrative role. You’ll play a strategic part in client relationships, cross-functional coordination, and performance oversight - acting as the glue that binds specialists and ensures delivery aligns with business goals.

The Role

You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for our tier 1 clients, managing calls, communication, project planning, priorities, and deadlines - while maintaining oversite of tier 2 & 3 accounts alongside their account managers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the key liaison for tier 1 clients
  • Leading or participating in several client and account manager calls each week
  • Owning project plans, priorities, actions, and deadlines
  • Coordinating work across SEO, PPC, CRO, design, and other specialists
  • Ensuring all services contribute to a unified client strategy
  • Translating strategic discussions into clear, time-bound actions and owners
  • Proactively monitoring progress and flagging potential delays
  • Identifying delivery risks, performance concerns, and communication gaps
  • Constructively challenging specialists when priorities or recommendations need scrutiny
  • Advocating for strategy over scope creep by respectfully pushing back on client requests that conflict with agreed goals
  • Maintaining visibility across lower-touch accounts to surface risks and opportunities
  • Supporting client retention, renewals, and relationship growth
  • Identifying upsell or strategic project opportunities
  • Reporting to and collaborating closely with the management team
  • Contributing to the evolution of our project management frameworks and workflows

Essential Experience

You must have:

  • Proven experience in project or account management within a digital marketing agency
  • Experience managing multi-service client accounts or complex cross-functional projects
  • A solid understanding of how digital agency teams operate and deliver value
  • Confidence leading client calls and managing senior stakeholders
  • Strong, clearly spoken and written English-suitable for high-stakes commercial conversations
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and follow-through skills
  • The confidence to question assumptions and hold both clients and internal teams accountable
  • The ability to grasp the commercial intent behind deliverables - not just task movement
  • Reliable daily availability with overlap of UK business hours

Please don't apply if you do not have demonstrable digital agency experience.

Preferred Knowledge

Familiarity with the following areas is advantageous (though technical expertise is not required):

  • SEO best practices and performance metrics
  • PPC, paid social, and broader paid media strategies
  • CRO principles and conversion funnel optimisation
  • Website design and development project lifecycles
  • Analytics, tracking setup, and performance reporting tools

You don’t need to be the specialist delivering each service - but you must understand enough to coordinate effectively, identify dependencies, ask insightful questions, and communicate confidently with clients and internal teams.

Working Arrangement

  • Contract Type: Freelance (ongoing, no fixed end date)
  • Hours: Minimum 5 hours/day (full-time availability highly encouraged)
  • Location: Fully remote—must maintain overlap with UK business hours
  • Meetings: Daily team Google Meet + several client calls weekly
  • Reporting: To the management team
  • Payment: Via Wise, within 48 hours of month-end invoice

How to Apply

We welcome applications from qualified candidates who meet the essential criteria. To apply, please submit the following via this platform:

  • Your CV – Clearly outlining your digital agency experience, including client types and services managed
  • Your proposed rate – Hourly or daily, in USD or GBP
  • Availability details – Daily hours, current location, time zone, and confirmation of UK business hours overlap

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 10 working days.
