Shorecrest Preparatory School Digital Content & Social Media Manager
The Digital Content & Social Media Manager is a member of the Marketing and Communications team responsible for creating timely, engaging visual content that brings the Shorecrest experience to life across digital platforms.
This hands-on role manages the School’s day-to-day social media presence and produces photography, short-form video and digital graphics for institutional communications, marketing campaigns and community storytelling. The Digital Content & Social Media Manager regularly attends activities and events across campus, identifies compelling stories and translates them into polished, platform-appropriate content.
The position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and collaborates closely with the Creative Director, Web Developer and Communications Manager, and colleagues across campus.
Essential Functions
- Manage the School’s day-to-day social media presence, including planning, writing, scheduling and publishing content
- Maintain a social media content calendar aligned with institutional priorities, campus events, admissions initiatives and advancement efforts
- Create platform-specific content, including Reels, Stories, carousels and other short-form formats
- Monitor platform activity, respond to or route messages appropriately and elevate sensitive or reputational concerns
- Track content performance and use analytics to inform future planning
- Stay current on platform trends and evaluate their relevance to the School’s brand and audiences
- Capture high-quality photography and video of student learning, athletics, arts, events and campus life
- Proactively identify visual storytelling opportunities across campus
- Produce short-form videos from concept through completion, including filming, interviewing, editing, captioning and publishing
- Edit and prepare photography for social media, web, email and other digital uses.
- Organize, label and archive photo and video assets according to departmental standards
- Follow established practices related to student privacy and media permissions
- Design digital graphics for social media, email, websites, digital displays and online advertising
- Adapt established campaigns and visual identities into platform-specific assets
- Use templates and brand standards to produce routine graphics efficiently and consistently
- Partner with the Creative Director on larger campaigns and projects requiring original creative direction
- Resize, reformat and optimize creative assets for multiple platforms
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital media, journalism, photography, graphic design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- At least two years of experience producing digital or social media content
- Demonstrated experience managing organizational or brand social media accounts
- Strong photography, video editing, graphic design and writing skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and social media publishing and analytics tools
- Portfolio demonstrates social media, photography, video and digital design work
- Strong organization, judgment and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Ability to work comfortably and professionally with students, families, faculty and staff
- Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed
- Experience in education, nonprofit or another mission-driven organization preferred
