Climate Pledge Arena, located at Seattle Center, is the complete redevelopment of an historic landmark, originally built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. The arena is owned by One Roof Sports & Entertainment and operated by Oak View Group. It is home to the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, WNBA's Seattle Storm, PWHL’s Seattle Torrent and the world's biggest performers of live music and events.

Climate Pledge Arena has one of the most progressive sustainability programs of any building its size, including being the world’s first Zero Carbon Certified arena. Named after a cause, not a corporation, The Climate Pledge is an initiative founded by Amazon and Global Optimism asking global corporations to become net zero carbon by 2040. Climate Pledge Arena opened October 19, 2021.

Position Summary:

This position will develop and manage Climate Pledge Arena’s digital marketing platform ensuring the success of all Climate Pledge Arena events and sales initiatives. The position will be directly responsible for strategic email, SMS and database marketing planning, creation, and execution as well as arena website development and management. This position will work closely with the business intelligence team and data analyst to identify key strategic implementation of our digital marketing efforts resulting in increased revenue across the platform. This position will support other arena marketing activities including the planning and execution of event and venue marketing plans, social media support, community relations programs, event welcome initiatives, and business development efforts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key stakeholder in the CPA digital platform including, web, email, sms, and future or emerging platforms.
  • Develop comprehensive email, web and SMS content and distribution strategy to support events, promotions, venue, guest services and premium sales goals.
  • Establish metrics and measurement frameworks across digital channels.
  • Manage and track CRM, programmatic, and email marketing campaigns and analytics. Translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and execute strategies to that evaluate, grow, and maintain email and SMS databases.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize automated, trigger-based campaigns across the customer lifecycle, including acquisition, engagement, retention, and upsell programs.
  • Manage the web developer relationship and ensure arena practices and procedures for content marketing, SEO, SEM, and AIO.
  • Develop and execute web content and design with web developer for arena website, including a potential redesign of the site and pages.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Data teams to improve data infrastructure, reporting, and audience insights; translate findings into actionable and trackable marketing strategies.
  • Assist Marketing Team with special projects and other assignments as needed
  • Learn Stay ahead of digital and email marketing trends.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment and elevating digital capabilities across the organization.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Analytics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in email marketing and marketing automation, preferably within the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Deep expertise in email marketing platforms, automation, segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and database management.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices, including email, SEM/SEO, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Analytics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across functions and organizational levels.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, creative, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving and execution.
  • Strong leadership presence and demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive projects forward.
  • Demonstrated passion for marketing and the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences and service.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Storytelling – written and visual
  • Experience in a website management system (e.g. WordPress)
  • Passion for sports, entertainment, sustainability and the Pacific Northwest community.
  • Experience working in a live events, stadium, or large-venue setting
  • Knowledge of SMS Marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, statistics, business analytics, economics, or related field.

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
  • Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building

Compensation:

  • In accordance with the Washington State Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the expected base pay range for this position is $82,000 – $92,000 annually. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
  • This is a full-time, exempt role.
