Digital Modem Engineer

You will lead the design and development of custom, low-latency modem architectures for point-to-point wireless networks. You will design and simulate physical-layer algorithms, build modem and system models, investigate performance for sign-off and RTL development, and collaborate on efficient implementations with digital designers and firmware developers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate physical-layer wireless communication algorithms
  • Realize wireless communication algorithms for low-latency applications
  • Implement modem and system models
  • Perform detailed performance investigations
  • Enable RTL development
  • Collaborate with digital designers and firmware developers on efficient implementations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and deploying digital modem systems
  • Deep knowledge of digital modem design
  • Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Matlab for algorithm development and link-level simulation
  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with wireless modem FPGA, ASIC, or custom data-path logic design preferred
  • Familiarity with RF and microwave components preferred
  • Reliable and predictable availability
