Digital Navigator (CMHA Residents Only)
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Information Technology or designee, the Digital Navigator will provide technical support to CMHA residents. Technical support includes assisting residents in connecting devices (computers, laptops, phones, smart TVs, etc.) to Wi-Fi networks, as well as providing on-site and remote Wi-Fi troubleshooting services to residents. The incumbent will also work with community partners and volunteers to develop and deliver digital literacy training to CMHA residents and will assist in searching for grants to help CMHA residents obtain devices and connectivity at affordable prices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead one-to-one and group digital skills training sessions;
- Provide outreach to CMHA communities through representation at meetings and other events;
- Coach residents to use their home internet services in order to meet their internet use priorities and goals. This may include in-person, phone, and online interactions, as well as referrals to sources of additional digital skill training;
- Advise residents about free or affordable home internet service options for which they may qualify, assist clients to apply for services;
- Knowledge of public speaking and publicity techniques sufficient to plan or conduct conference or training sessions;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills
- Ability to accurately and comfortably communicate technical information to non-technical individuals.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain personal computers, networks, and related hardware and software.
- Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.
- Ability to identify and resolve computer system malfunctions and operations problems.
- Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college in Information Systems or related field preferred.
- Applicants must be current CMHA residents with a positive standing.
