Overview Join a well-respected Kiwi sporting organisation dedicated to enabling athletes, teams and members of the public to participate, compete and excel in sport and physical activity.

This is a pivotal senior opportunity to drive the organisation's Digital Strategy Roadmap, modernise ways of working, and deliver measurable value through digital products and services.

The Role Reporting to the CFO & Director of Corporate Services, you will act as the critical bridge between business needs, technology and users. You will take end-to-end ownership of the organisation's digital products and platforms, including websites, mobile applications, athlete and team tools, and internal systems.

You will lead key technology initiatives, champion the responsible adoption of AI and emerging technologies, and help shape the organisation's digital future. This is a broad, hands-on yet strategic role, ideal for someone who thrives on practical transformation and embedding sustainable change within a collaborative, values-driven organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Progress and operationalise the Digital Strategy Roadmap, translating strategic objectives into prioritised products, services and initiatives.
• Provide end-to-end ownership of digital platforms, managing the delivery of new capabilities and enhancements, including major initiatives such as CRM implementation, games management tools and website improvements.
• Manage external vendors and technology partners, ensuring strong performance, value for money and successful delivery.
• Lead the responsible adoption of AI by identifying practical use cases, developing governance and guidance, building organisational AI and digital capability, and piloting solutions that improve productivity and the athlete and stakeholder experience.
• Partner with teams across the organisation to map workflows, redesign processes, and drive the adoption of improved digital ways of working.
• Lead technology projects from initiation through to successful delivery and benefits realisation, including business case development, governance, risk management and change management.
• Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team on digital performance, progress and future investment priorities.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience leading digital products and/or services throughout the full product lifecycle, from discovery and delivery through to continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
• Practical experience using AI tools and a genuine passion for applying technology to solve real business challenges. Experience experimenting with AI-assisted ("vibe") coding, developing working applications, prototypes or business solutions would be highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience leading technology projects, including managing budgets, scope, risk, contracts and delivery.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process improvement and workflow design.
• High digital literacy, including Microsoft 365, combined with a pragmatic, outcome-focused approach.
