Digital Transformation Manager
Salary: RM 8,000 – RM 9,000 per month
About the role
We are looking for a Business Systems & Digital Transformation Manager to lead and develop the company's internal digital transformation and business systems capability. We operate a bulk cement trading and distribution business in Malaysia, supported by an internal fleet, in-house workshop and truck/component warehouse. As a company, we are on a journey to become one of the most technology-enabled and digitally integrated companies in the transportation industry, using technology to improve operational efficiency, visibility, reliability and scalability. This role will work closely with the COO, management and operational teams to lead the company's digital transformation roadmap, improve business processes, strengthen business systems, manage technology partners and develop the internal digital capability of the organisation. The successful candidate will be expected to operate as a player-coach: capable of leading a team and managing external technology partners while remaining sufficiently hands-on to understand systems, investigate problems, challenge technical solutions and drive practical implementation. This is a key role in building the company's internal Business Systems & Digital Transformation function, with responsibility for turning business requirements into practical technology solutions and ensuring that digital initiatives deliver measurable operational value.
Key responsibilities
Own and drive the company's business systems and digital transformation roadmap in alignment with business objectives
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, visibility, reliability and scalability through process improvement and technology
Work closely with the COO and management to prioritise digital initiatives based on business value, urgency, cost and feasibility
Lead transformation initiatives across Delivery Order, Fleet, Workshop, Truck Components Warehouse and other business functions
Lead, develop and manage the internal Business Systems & Digital Transformation team
Analyse business processes and identify opportunities to simplify, improve and digitalise work
Act as the company's senior internal representative when dealing with external software developers, implementation partners and technology vendors
Oversee the health, reliability, performance, security and maintainability of critical business systems
Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, duplicate data entry and operational errors through automation
Lead system implementation and organisational adoption
About you
Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Systems, Business Analytics or a related field
6–10 years of relevant experience in business systems, digital transformation, systems analysis, process automation, ERP implementation, technology projects or similar roles
Experience leading projects, teams, vendors or cross-functional technology initiatives
Strong understanding of business processes, workflow improvement and system implementation
Proven experience working with software developers, system vendors or implementation partners
Experience in requirements gathering, UAT, system implementation and project management
Good understanding of software development, databases, system architecture and system integration
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to communicate effectively with senior management, operational users and technical developers
Comfortable taking ownership of outcomes rather than simply coordinating activities
