Role Description:
The Digitalization / BIM Specialist / CAD Draftsman is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing digital engineering models, CAD drawings, and BIM deliverables throughout project lifecycles. The role supports the organization's digital transformation initiatives by implementing BIM standards, creating accurate technical documentation, managing project data, and ensuring seamless collaboration among stakeholders.
Requirements
BIM Management & Coordination:
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models using industry-standard software.
- Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), company standards, and project requirements.
- Perform model federation, clash detection, and coordination reviews.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination between architecture, structural, MEP, and surveying teams.
- Generate BIM deliverables including 3D models, schedules, quantities, and reports.
- Assist in implementing BIM workflows, protocols, and digital construction methodologies.
CAD Drafting & Documentation:
- Prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, plans, elevations, sections, and details.
- Convert hand sketches, survey field data, and engineering designs into CAD drawings.
- Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and document control procedures.
- Produce shop drawings, as-built drawings, and construction documentation.
- Verify drawing accuracy and compliance with project specifications and standards.
Digitalization & Data Management:
- Support digital transformation initiatives across engineering and construction projects.
- Develop and manage digital asset databases and document management systems.
- Integrate survey, GIS, laser scanning, and reality capture data into BIM environments.
- Assist in implementing Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
- Contribute to workflow automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, version control, and information security compliance.
Project Support:
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and contractors.
- Attend technical meetings and provide BIM/CAD support.
- Track project deliverables and ensure timely submission.
- Support quantity take-offs, visualization, and project presentations.
- Prepare progress reports related to BIM and digitalization activities.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all drawings and models comply with industry standards and company procedures.
- Conduct model and drawing quality checks.
- Follow ISO, BIM, and project-specific standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Geomatics, Survey Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 7-10 years of experience in BIM modeling, CAD drafting, digital engineering, or construction technology.
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, surveying, construction, or consultancy projects preferred.
