Description
Context
Our client is going through a large-scale IT transformation. They're looking for an experienced Solution Architect who loves both the big picture and the technical detail, and who wants real impact in a technology leadership role.
What you'll do
- Design solutions that matter. You'll own end-to-end architecture for key IT initiatives, making sure they're robust, secure and fit for purpose.
- Be the bridge. You'll connect Enterprise Architecture with the delivery teams, turning strategy into solutions that actually get built.
- Team up. You'll work hand in hand with business owners, domain architects and engineers to deliver high-quality results.
- Shape the roadmap. You'll define target architectures and roadmaps for a core business domain, using your hands-on experience.
- Build for reuse. You'll create solution patterns and building blocks that other teams can rely on.
- Share what you know. You'll lead communities of practice, exchange lessons learned with fellow architects and help the architecture practice grow.
- 10+ years in IT, with solid experience as a Solution Architect on large transformation programmes.
- Strong architecture skills: event-driven and service-based architectures, microservices, RESTful APIs.
- Agile and DevOps experience at scale, including CI/CD. SAFe knowledge is a nice bonus.
- A TOGAF certification, or a similar one.
- Tech you've worked with: .NET, Angular, Azure, Kafka, SQL, BPM/low-code platforms, mainframe backends and SaaS packages.
- The ability to zoom in and out: you're as comfortable writing a strategy document as solving an implementation challenge.
- A pragmatic mindset: you go for what works, not what looks perfect on paper.
- Autonomy and sharp analytical skills: you break down complex problems across teams and locations and come up with actionable answers.
- Strong communication skills: you can convince project teams and senior management alike.
- A mentor's spirit: you enjoy helping newer architects grow.
- Fluent English.
- Experience in financial services and its regulatory environment.
- Knowledge of capital markets.
- Familiarity with frameworks like Open Agile Architecture.
