Dining Services Supervisor

Location: York, PA

We are currently seeking a Dining Services Supervisor to join our team in York, PA.

Position Summary

The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dining Services Department, ensuring high-quality food service, operational efficiency, and compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards. This role provides direct supervision and support to dining services staff while fostering a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming dining environment for clients, visitors, and employees.

The Dining Services Supervisor collaborates with facility leadership and clinical nutrition services, as appropriate, to support nutritional needs and deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily dining services operations to ensure quality food preparation, service excellence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise dining services staff, including scheduling, training, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served according to approved menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership and clinical nutrition services to support client nutritional needs and departmental goals.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with purchasing, and support cost-effective use of departmental resources.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, workplace safety, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor departmental performance and support quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and client satisfaction.
  • Address and resolve concerns from clients, visitors, and employees in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
  • Complete all required trainings as assigned by the organization and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of Dining Services employees.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, coaching, and employee development.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and corrective action processes as needed.
  • Ensure accountability for departmental performance, service standards, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Experience in food service, culinary services, or dining operations within a healthcare facility, restaurant, school, or similar environment required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
