Summary

Operates a resin-dipping process for aerospace composite panels, handling tanks, ovens, and record-keeping in a manufacturing facility.

Who we are:

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb, high performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners and original equipment for passenger and freighter aircraft. The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.

Dips core blocks in a dip tank and soaks them with resin. Removes dipped core blocks and takes them to an oven to cure the resin and then removes them from the oven to cool.

Responsibilities:

  • Turns afterburner and Nomex oven on/off as required.
  • Uses programs for dipping loaves.
  • Adds resin and alcohol to tank as needed.
  • Cleans dipping frames and tank as needed. Calculates and records the amount of alcohol and resin used per block.
  • Weighs loaves before and after dipping, and records on work order.
  • Sets oven temperature controls and places dipped units in oven to bake and dry for specified time.
  • Records densities and all other necessary information on work order.
  • Reports labor and issues material to Visual software.
  • Must be available any shift, over-time and weekends.
  • Other duties may be assigned dependent on TGC business requirements.
