Provides direct support and evaluations of adults with developmental disabilities in a day habilitation setting. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the coordination of therapeutic services. This position has limited case management responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Accurately record all data for established goals, objectives and behavior plans of members in assigned group, in real time.
• Write monthly progress notes for assigned members.
• Ensure member training programs are implemented according to their DHSP.
• Implement all plans as outlined by OT, PT, Speech, Nursing and Behavioral objectives for individual members.
• Establish oneself as the group coach/leader, assisting new staff in learning specific individual and/or group tasks and activities.
• Attend mandated Safety Care training. Responsible for implementing physical restraints on the individuals we support to assist with behavioral management. This may include, but not limited to, hitting, biting, kicking, and spitting.
• Develop curriculum, activities and modules to enhance the quality of services provided to members.
• Prepare reports in accordance with state and agency requirements.
• Work in cooperation with other Direct Care Staff and Case Managers to develop member skills in the areas of: self-help skills, sensorimotor skills, communication skills, independent living skills, affective development skills, social development skills, behavioral development, and wellness.
• Serve as a liaison between RTR and the community representing a positive and proactive attitude at all times.
• Cooperate and interact with co-workers, clients, volunteers, and funders in a collaborative, courteous, empathic, and professional manner. Demonstrate willingness and ability to be part of team effort.
• Serve as an appropriate role model for individuals under supervision establishing behavioral limits in a positive consistent manner and in accordance with behavioral plans.
• Promptly inform Case Manager when a member is not working toward established goals.
• Attend and participate in meetings concerning assigned individuals as necessary.
• Adhere to all program routines and schedules.
• Provide transportation to activities as needed.
• Assist and support individuals as needed with physical direct care/dietary needs, may include: physical or mechanical transfer of individuals from wheelchairs to a van, chair, toilet, etc. May also include any nursing activity that is deemed to be delegable, including, but not limited, to the administration of thickening agents, and assistance with special diets.
• Participate in the Positive Behavior Support initiative and complete the Quality Behavior Curriculum.
• Implement all behavioral plan interventions as assigned; these behavioral interventions may include physical restraint.
• Adhere to the schedules and needs of RTR and the schedules and needs of individuals under supervision.
• Adhere to agency safety standards.
• Perform additional duties, or substitute for others as required. Additional duties may include but are not limited to clearing snow and ice from walkways, vehicles, parking lots, and roads using equipment like shovels and snow blowers while applying deicing agents to ensure safety.
