Direct Support Professional - Baldwinsville, NY
You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a creative and compassionate Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) and teacher to work with a gifted young adult with a developmental disability. In this critical role, you will help him in learning key independent living skills, teach him skills to communicate and interact with others, and assist him in experiencing social, recreational, and physical fitness opportunities in the community. The ideal candidate will have effective communication and leadership skills, patience, and strong organizational skills. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required.
Hours and days of work
Monday/Wednesday/Friday (4 PM - 8 PM)
Pay rate: $24 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16 per hour.
Location: Baldwinsville, NY
