Direct Support Professional - Camillus/Marcellus Area
Advocates is hiring a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support two men with developmental disabilities who share a home. This role provides in-home support to help them maintain as much independence as possible. They are looking for someone to spend time with them during the day and help them work toward their personal goals.
Goals include:
• Building social skills - such as asking for help, communicating with their roommate, and respecting boundaries
• Developing independent living skills - including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and personal care
• Making healthy food and beverage choices
We are looking for a dependable, enthusiastic, and motivated DSP. Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. To apply, please submit a resume or summary of experience.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
Sunday (12 PM - 7 PM)
(Full-time opportunities may be available)
Pay rate: $20.50 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16 per hour.
Location: Camillus/Marcellus, NY area
