All shifts for full-time and part-time positions are available in our Community homes in Carroll and Glidden.

$17.00/hour starting base pay for DSP

Weekend Differential: $2/hour additional

Evening Shift Differential: $1.50/hour additional

Ability to sleep up to 5.5 hours on the overnight shift as the clients sleep.

Direct Support Professional ( DSP) positions assist adults with disabilities in our community homes located in Carroll and Glidden. DSPs assist with daily activities such as personal care, community outings, leisure activities, meals, laundry, and cleaning. DSPs are also responsible for data collection and documentation and administering medications. No prior experience is required, New Hope provides paid classroom instruction and on-the-job training with an assigned mentor to help ensure a successful career with New Hope.

Scheduling Options

New Hope offers many scheduling options to meet the needs of persons served and employees. In our community homes, New Hope offers longer shifts but fewer days which works well for commuters.

  • Ability to read, write in English and perform simple arithmetic calculations
  • Community home staff must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid Iowa driver's license, and a safe driving record, and be insurable under our agency's auto insurance
  • Have the ability to successfully complete a Medication Manager course after hire.
