Covenant Case Management Services is looking for an active, engaging Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support an intelligent, curious young boy in the Mount Holly, NC (28120) area through Community Living Support (CLS), Respite, and skill-building activities.

This bright young guy is fascinated by how things work—especially motors, engines, and technology—and thrives when he is outside exploring, moving, and learning hands-on. We are looking for a mentor and caregiver who shares his active, outdoor-loving spirit, can match his energy, and is excited to connect over shared interests while guiding him in daily living routines and personal independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Active Mentorship & Exploration: Engage him in outdoor activities, hands-on projects, and tech/mechanical interests that keep him stimulated, active, and encouraged.

  • Daily Living Support: Assist with routine daily life activities, including personal care, snack/meal preparation, routine medication administration, and reinforcing healthy daily habits.

  • Community Engagement: Safely accompany and support him during outings in the Mount Holly area, local parks, and community recreational activities.

  • Skill-Building & Personal Growth: Foster confidence, problem-solving skills, and everyday independence both at home and out in the community.

  • Safety & Supervision: Maintain an active, watchful presence to ensure his safety and well-being in all environments.

  • Collaboration & Documentation: Maintain accurate daily support notes and communicate consistently with his family and CCMS coordinators.

Work Schedule & Hours

This position offers exceptional flexibility to work around college classes, another job, or personal commitments:

  • School Year Schedule: ~15 hours per week

    • After-school weekday shifts (after 3:30 PM) and/or flexible weekend hours based on your availability.

  • Summer & School Breaks: Expands up to ~28 hours per week for daytime and weekday support.

Position Details & Structure

  • Role Type: Part-Time / Flexible 1099 Independent Contractor

  • Service Focus: Community Living Support (CLS) & Respite Care as needed

  • Location: Mount Holly, NC (28120)

  • Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay at $18/hour for CLS

  • Organization: Covenant Case Management Services

  • Motto: Enriching Futures, Empowering Dreams

What We Are Looking For | Qualifications

  • Personality & Energy: An energetic, patient, and outdoorsy demeanor. If you enjoy hiking, working with your hands, technology, or outdoor sports, you will be a natural fit!

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (Required).

  • Driver's License & Travel: Valid North Carolina driver’s license with reliable personal transportation and clean driving record (Required).

  • Clearances: Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check.

  • Contractor Status: Comfort operating as an independent contractor under a 1099 agreement.

  • Experience: Prior experience working with children, youth, or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is preferred, but an active, compassionate heart and dependable character matter most.

Why Partner with Covenant Case Management Services?

  • Competitive Pay: Rewarding hourly compensation tailored to your experience and service hours.

  • Flexible Scheduling: Predictable after-school and weekend hours during the school year with increased daytime hours during breaks.

  • A True Mentor Connection: A uniquely engaging role where you can share hobbies, explore the outdoors, and make a lasting, personal impact on a young boy’s life.
