Direct Support Professional

Position Overview: Deer Valley Home Health Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The DSP will provide personalized care and support in a safe and nurturing environment. This role is essential in helping our clients achieve greater independence by assisting with daily tasks, teaching life skills, and promoting community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a residential or community setting.

• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, showering, toileting, and dressing.

• Support clients with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and managing money.

• Teach clients life skills, encouraging independence and helping them learn tasks they can perform on their own.

• Assist with mobility, including ambulation and feeding when necessary.

• Monitor the health and well-being of clients, including performing routine medical and health-related tasks as directed.

• Transport clients to and from medical appointments, day programs, and community activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.

• Work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals under care.

• Document and report any changes in the client’s health, behavior, or environment to appropriate team members.

• Ensure clients’ personal rights, dignity, and privacy are respected at all times.
