Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Special Project Assignment

Parc Center for Disabilities is seeking a compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a unique community-based learning environment.


This position will be assigned to a special project that combines traditional Adult Day Training services with hands-on skill development in a local business setting. The DSP will lead and support small groups of participants while helping them build communication, social, workplace readiness, daily living, and employment-related skills. Through coaching and skill development, participants will gain experience and confidence needed for future employment opportunities and greater independence. Upon completion of the project, the DSP will transition into a traditional Adult Day Training (ADT) DSP role.


What You'll Do

  • Create a positive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, personal growth, and employment readiness.
  • Lead and support small groups of participants in a community-based setting.
  • Teach and reinforce communication, social, workplace readiness, and daily living skills.
  • Provide pre-employment training and coaching to help participants develop appropriate workplace behaviors, work habits, and interpersonal skills.
  • Assist participants in learning new tasks, following routines, building job-related skills, and increasing independence in community and workplace settings.
  • Support individuals in developing skills that may lead to future competitive employment opportunities.
  • Implement individualized support plans and document participant progress toward personal, vocational, and program goals.
  • Provide coaching, encouragement, and hands-on assistance while promoting participant success.
  • Transport participants using a Parc vehicle while following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required daily electronic documentation and progress notes.
  • Maintain participant safety, dignity, privacy, and choice at all times.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, team members, community partners, and local businesses to support participant goals and skill development.
  • Participate in community activities and outings as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties consistent with the Adult Day Training DSP position.
