1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Syracuse, NY (KF – MZ)

A 45-year-old female in Syracuse NY is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist her with working further developing her personal goals, assistance with being safe and secure in her community, and assistance with finding various activities in her community that she may enjoy.

She is a very kind and compassionate individual who has a deep love for animals and enjoys spending time around them. She also enjoys shopping, going on walks/hiking, and getting out into the community to explore different places and experiences. She would benefit from a DSP who takes the time to listen to her preferences, encourage her interests, and support her in finding activities that bring her happiness and fulfillment.

The ideal candidate is compassionate and a good listener who enjoys building a trusting relationship and supporting others in achieving greater independence. This person should be active, engaging, and willing to participate alongside her in activities of her choice. The ideal DSP should also be dependable, encouraging, and willing to provide support with everyday personal goals, such as searching for an apartment, grocery shopping, and accessing community resources.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services.

Hours and days of work: Mondays: 10a – 2p, Wednesdays: 10a – 2p, and Fridays 11a - 2p

Starting pay: list CH1 or 2 rates same for Respite Starting pay is $19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.
• Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
• No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
