Direct Support Professional - Lee Center (Rome, NY area)
Advocates is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support a friendly, humorous gentleman with a developmental disability in Lee Center, NY (Rome area). He is looking for a Mentor to assist him with working on goals and community-based activities within his community.
Goals include:
• Pursuing hobbies and interests, community activities, and local events. Supporting the individual with engaging in recreational activities, skill-building tasks, and participating in current hobbies as well as exploring new ones.
Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic, and active. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
A total of 15 hours are available per week.
Three 5-hour weekdays per week between the hours of 9 AM - 3 PM.
Pay rate: $21.30 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.
Location: Lee Center, NY (Rome area)
