Direct Support Professional - Manlius

Advocates is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and experienced Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with a young woman with a developmental disability. In this rewarding role, you will support her participation in community activities, help her explore and engage in her interests, and encourage the development of independent living and social skills.
This individual is youthful, outgoing, and highly social. She enjoys engaging with others and benefits from support in remaining focused and actively involved in preferred activities. She also requires guidance with understanding and maintaining appropriate social boundaries and interactions. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and social-behavioral support needs is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will be patient, engaging, and able to provide positive coaching while fostering independence, confidence, and meaningful community involvement.
Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
Flexible schedule, 2 days per week
Monday through Friday (3 PM - 6 PM)
Pay rate: $20.30 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.
Location: Manlius, NY
