Direct Support Professional - Manlius, NY

Advocates is seeking a Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to support an active man with a developmental disability. He is looking for a Mentor to assist him with working on his goals both at home and in his community.

Goals include:
• Independent living skills - personal care tasks, maintaining a tidy home
• Participating in hobbies of interest – fishing, art, cooking

Seeking a DSP who is reliable, enthusiastic about fishing, active, and encouraging. Related experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred but not required. Please respond with resume or summary of experience.

Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.

Hours and days of work:

Weekdays (6 AM – 10 PM) – this is flexible; shifts within this time frame are acceptable

Full-time opportunities may be available.

Pay rate: $23.50 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.

Location: Manlius, NY
