Direct Support Professional - Syracuse/Lyncourt

Advocates is seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Mentor (DSP/1:1 support staff) to work with an individual with a developmental disability. In this important role, you will provide support with independent living skills, community integration, social development, and daily activities while promoting the individual's overall health, safety, and independence. This individual requires assistance with personal care needs as well as behavioral support; therefore, experience working with individuals who have similar support needs is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, patience, reliability, good judgment, and the ability to provide consistent, person-centered support in a variety of settings. Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. DSP must have a valid email address.
Hours and days of work
Monday, Thursday, and Friday (2:30 PM - 5:30 PM)
Pay rate: $21.30 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16.00 per hour.
Location: Syracuse, NY (Lyncourt area)
