Locations: Richmond
$17/hr base + $4/hr weekend differential
Earn up to $21/hr on weekends
At CRi, we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives—and we’re strengthening our weekend teams with enhanced weekend pay.
DSP I staff earn an additional $4/hr for qualifying weekend hours (Friday 11:00 PM – Monday 9:00 AM).

Are you experienced, compassionate, and ready to lead? At CRi, we’re looking for a Direct Support Professional I to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives in their communities.
As a DSP I, you’ll go beyond basic care—you’ll mentor, advocate, and help transform lives, all while supporting a team and driving excellence.
What You’ll Do:

Lead and mentor staff during shifts

Provide direct support based on personalized care plans

Communicate with families, guardians, and health professionals

Ensure accurate, timely documentation and progress tracking

Advocate for individuals at appointments and in the community

Model professionalism and uphold CRi’s core values
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Understanding of the unique needs and challenges associated with supporting individuals with IDD.
- Familiarity with the Person-Centered Planning process.
- Basic computer skills for documentation, communication and training purposes.
- Ability to cook and manage household tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Environment:
- Indoor and Outdoor program site and various community locations.
Supervision Exercised:
- Leadership responsibilities on shifts, including overseeing progress note review, documentation completion, and delegation of tasks.
- Serve as a supportive conduit for individuals and their families/guardians.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to facilitate home life meetings.
