Direct Support Staff

As a Direct Support Staff member, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily activities. Your responsibilities will include promoting independence, enhancing life skills, and ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to advocacy, respect, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to clients in everyday activities, including person care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Assist client in developing and maintaining social , communication, and daily living skills.
  • Implement individualized support plans and document progress and challenges.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages personal growth, choice, and fun.
  • Assist with transportation to community activities, social events and appointments as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Participate in training and development o enhance skills and understand best practices in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Ability to pass background checks

  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable

  • Experience preferred but not required — we provide paid training
