Director Accounting
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting director ready to shape and elevate regional accounting operations across EMEA, Asia Pacific, and the Americas. Reporting to the UL Solutions Business Controller, the Accounting Director will lead a global organization responsible for accounting, compliance, controls, and financial reporting in a dynamic international environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead regional accounting operations across general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement integrity.
- Drive month-end close execution with a focus on quality, discipline, and timely issue resolution.
- Partner closely with corporate accounting and reporting teams to support enterprise priorities and deliverables.
- Lead regional internal controls and SOX compliance while strengthening overall financial discipline.
- Direct external audit activity for in-scope entities and help drive efficient, effective audit execution.
- Oversee statutory accounting, local audits, and filing requirements across the region.
- Serve as a legal entity representative and director, as appropriate for the role.
- Advance automation, process standardization, centralization and control optimization to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Ensure accounting policies, procedures, and governance standards are effectively implemented and sustained.
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team through coaching, accountability, and talent development.
- Support acquisition activity from due diligence through purchase accounting and integration.
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives that enhance the effectiveness of the finance organization.
- Model the company’s values and uphold all Code of Conduct and security requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
CPA required.
15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of large, multinational teams.
Strong experience leading accounting operations within a U.S.-based multinational environment.
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting, accounting policy, technical accounting, and internal controls.
Experience working with large, complex global ERP platforms.
Proven success driving process improvement, systems enhancement, and operational transformation.
Strong executive presence and the ability to influence effectively across operational and corporate stakeholders.
Excellent analytical judgment, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
A proactive, high-urgency mindset with exceptional organization and prioritization skills.
Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $152,000 to $203,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 30% of the base salary and a 30% RSU grant. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (20 days), holidays including 3 floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
