About the Role
Call of Duty is one of the most played franchises in the world, and Asia represents one of its most strategically important and complex markets. We're looking for a Director of Asia Publishing to help us unlock that opportunity.
This role sits at the intersection of market intelligence, local execution, and global strategy. You will serve as the primary point of contact between our local partners and Activision HQ, ensuring our publishing operations are executed with precision and cultural fluency. The ideal candidate is player oriented, commercially minded, and deeply familiar with the gaming landscape and regulatory environment in Asian markets, with a focus on Greater China.
Key Responsibilities
Market Intelligence and Product Strategy
- Own the regional market intelligence function - monitoring player behavior, competitive dynamics, platform trends, and genre shifts in Greater China and other Asian markets.
- Analyze leading titles and develop product evaluation frameworks and localization/culturalization best practices, especially those tailored to the Chinese-language markets.
- Produce regular reporting and presentations for ELT, translating on-the-ground market dynamics into clear recommendations
- Contextualize market-specific feedback, regulatory considerations, and partner signals for internal stakeholders across HQ functions
Publishing Activity Planning and Execution
- Lead the planning and execution of publishing activities, working closely with local partners, regional marketing teams, and agencies to ensure delivery against agreed timelines and objectives
- Partner with regional marketing team in the forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation of marketing budgets – at a scale commensurate with a major AAA game launch
- Oversee the asset review and approval process, ensuring all creative materials meet Activision brand standards and local regulatory requirements
- Run weekly partner and internal sync meetings; maintain and distribute regular KPI status updates to internal stakeholders
- Integrate performance metrics and player feedback to support data-driven decision making
Cross-Regional Communication and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the senior regional voice in cross- functional discussions with HQ, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with local marketing agencies and platform partners
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of the gaming ecosystem in Greater China and other Asian markets, including platform dynamics, regulatory environment, and consumer behavior
- 10+ years of experience in game publishing, marketing, product management or related functions, with direct exposure to the Greater China market
- Hands-on experience managing international IP through the publishing lifecycle in Greater China
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate effectively across cultures and time zones
- Experience working with or managing external agencies and local publishing partners
- Native Mandarin and fluent business English required
