Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through mentorship. We believe every child deserves a champion—and our programs connect caring adult and teen mentors with young people to ignite their potential. As Director – Community, you’ll lead regional mentoring efforts, build strategic partnerships, and help shape the future of youth development in Northern New Mexico.
Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily operations of youth mentoring programs, ensuring alignment with national and state standards
- Supervise and support program staff to maintain high-quality service delivery
- Monitor program performance, budget adherence, and long-term sustainability
- Ensure compliance with child safety protocols and maintain accurate records
Fund Development & Strategic Partnerships
- Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and community leaders
- Secure funding through grant writing, sponsorships, and fundraising campaigns
- Collaborate with the Fund Development Team to execute regional strategies
- Expand and engage the Regional Board to support strategic priorities
Volunteer Recruitment & Community Engagement
- Lead innovative volunteer recruitment and retention efforts
- Build partnerships with schools, community groups, and local organizations
- Represent BBBSNM at events and in media to elevate visibility and impact
Program Management & Match Support
- Manage a caseload of mentor-mentee matches, ensuring positive relationships and developmental impact
- Facilitate enrollment, training, and match recommendations
- Plan match activities and events that foster connection and growth
- Monitor match progress and implement strategies for long-term success
