The Director, Business Development & Community Relations will lead local relationship development and community engagement efforts in new and emerging markets. This role will build and sustain trusted relationships with community stakeholders to support WelbeHealth’s successful entry into new markets across the U.S. The Director, Business Development & Community Relations sits within the Strategy & Expansion team and leads WelbeHealth’s growth and expansion efforts, bringing high-quality PACE programs to new markets across the country.
This role is different because the Director, Business Development & Community Relations at WelbeHealth:
- Plays a critical role in bringing WelbeHealth and the PACE model into new communities, building trusted relationships with healthcare organizations, community leaders, policymakers, and other local stakeholders well before and throughout market entry
- Helps establish WelbeHealth’s credibility, understands local dynamics, and builds community support needed for successful market expansion
- Operates as a highly visible, strategic ambassador for WelbeHealth in new and emerging markets, using strong business development instincts, local market intelligence, and relationship-building skills to identify opportunities, cultivate champions, navigate community dynamics, and galvanize diverse stakeholders around WelbeHealth’s mission

On the day-to-day, you will:
- Lead stakeholder engagement in future markets to build strong community trust, awareness, and support for WelbeHealth and the PACE model
- Develop and execute tailored engagement plans that reflect the political, healthcare, and community dynamics of each priority market
- Build and sustain meaningful partnerships with local healthcare and community organizations, including hospital systems, providers, FQHCs, senior service organizations, housing partners, senior centers, and Area Agencies on Aging
- Cultivate trusted local champions and advocates who can support WelbeHealth’s market entry efforts, including through letters of support and participation in community engagement activities
- Serve as a visible ambassador for WelbeHealth in priority markets by representing the organization at community meetings, conferences, stakeholder forums, and partnership discussions
- Gather and synthesize local market intelligence, stakeholder feedback, and community perspectives to inform market entry strategy, competitive positioning, and organizational decision-making
- Identify potential partnership risks, community concerns, and barriers to market entry, and work cross-functionally to develop mitigation strategies
Job requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, public health, healthcare administration, business, economics, political science, public relations, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, partnerships, government affairs, community engagement, or related roles; experience in healthcare, Medicaid, managed care, PACE, or senior services strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success building trusted relationships with community leaders, healthcare organizations, policymakers, regulators, and other external stakeholders
- Strong business development and partnership-building instincts, with persistence, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
- Ability to galvanize diverse stakeholders and build coalitions around a shared goal in complex and evolving environments
- Must be willing and able to work fully remotely with the expectation of significant and sustained travel to priority markets as needed to support relationship-building, market development, and launches – travel can be up to 75-80%
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent WelbeHealth credibly and effectively in external settings

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a broad range of additional benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and relevant qualifications.
