What you'll do:

As Director, Client Services, you'll help some of Japan's largest agency partners solve complex business challenges and accelerate their growth through data-driven advertising. You'll combine strategic client leadership, commercial acumen, and people leadership to build long-term partnerships, develop high-performing teams, and shape the future of the Open Internet.

  • Lead the client success strategy across your portfolio, partnering closely with Business Development on commercial growth opportunities while owning execution, adoption, and long-term customer outcomes.
  • Champion client success internally by collaborating across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and regional teams to influence product innovation, solve complex business challenges, and deliver best-in-class client experiences.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of AM Team Leads, Account Managers (including people managers) and Traders fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance while acting as a player-coach on strategic client engagements.
  • Drive operational excellence by effectively managing team priorities, resource allocation, and portfolio performance to consistently deliver exceptional client service and commercial results.
  • Help shape the future of digital advertising by advising clients on industry transformation, AI, and evolving media strategies while representing The Trade Desk as a trusted thought leader across Japan's advertising ecosystem.

Who you are:

  • 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, media, ad tech, or a related industry, including at least 2 years leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven success building executive relationships and driving long-term growth across agency, advertiser, or enterprise client portfolios.
  • A strategic and commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead complex client engagements, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and partnering with Sales, Product, Operations, and Technical teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • A passion for developing people through coaching, feedback, and creating an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
