Director, Compliance
You will lead and enhance the lending compliance program across origination, servicing, and secondary market activities. You will design and oversee a scalable Compliance Management System, monitor regulatory developments, liaise with regulators and auditors, and develop compliance policies, controls, monitoring, and testing. You will conduct risk assessments, review marketing materials and loan documents, embed compliance into systems and workflows, oversee issue management and complaint resolution, and deliver executive reporting. You will also provide training and build cross-functional partnerships to strengthen compliance practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously enhance the lending Compliance Management System
- Ensure compliance with federal and state lending regulations such as RESPA TILA ECOA HMDA FCRA UDAAP and the SAFE Act
- Monitor regulatory developments and liaise with regulators and auditors
- Develop and maintain compliance policies controls monitoring and testing programs
- Conduct risk assessments and review marketing materials disclosures loan documents and product changes
- Partner with product underwriting operations capital markets servicing and technology teams to embed compliance into systems and workflows
- Oversee issue management consumer complaint resolution corrective actions and executive reporting
- Build a culture of compliance through training and cross-functional partnership
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive lending origination compliance experience
- Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations including HELOC DSCR and crypto-backed loan products
- Experience managing regulatory exams and external audits
- Proven experience leading compliance teams
- Understanding of lending operations and the full loan lifecycle
- Experience with fintech or technology-enabled mortgage platforms
- CAMS CRCM or similar certification
- Strong judgment and communication skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
