Director, Corporate Strategy & Performance MY
Job Purpose
Assist the Head of Strategy, Performance & Programme Management in leading the Bank’s strategic evolution by driving innovation, exploring new growth engines and shaping the GCEO’s agenda on enterprise priorities. The role is responsible for translating future-focused strategy into tangible outcomes, orchestrating execution across the Group, and unlocking new sources of value in a rapidly evolving financial landscape.
Key Responsibilities
As a senior member of the team, the individual is expected to play an integral role in:
- Strategy
- Drive the development and continuous evolution of Group-wide strategy, including identification of new growth engines, adjacencies, and future business models
- Lead forward-looking analysis on industry disruption, emerging trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic choices
- Develop strategic scenarios and options to support Board and GCEO decision-making
- Translate strategy into clear enterprise priorities, capital allocation lenses, and value creation roadmaps
- Innovation & Strategic exploration
- Originate and lead high-impact innovation initiatives, including new business models, digital propositions, and ecosystem plays
- Identify and assess strategic investment opportunities, partnerships, and inorganic plays aligned with future growth priorities
- Establish and drive a structured innovation pipeline (ideation → incubation → scaling)
- Act as a catalyst across businesses to embed innovation thinking and challenge status quo
- Execution
- Oversee and orchestrate execution of Group-level strategic initiatives, ensuring delivery of targeted outcomes and value
- Drive end-to-end accountability from strategy design through to implementation and impact realisation
- Establish and embed robust tracking frameworks for strategic initiatives, including financial and non-financial KPIs
- Proactively identify and resolve execution bottlenecks and risks
Job Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in a strategic or advisory capacity
- Preferably with more then 5 years experience in the financial services industry
- Technical/Functional skills
- Good understanding of the financial services industry as well as adjacencies
- Good set of strategic and operations problem solving skill
- Solid base of financial analysis capability
- Personal skills (Soft Competencies [Core/Leadership])
- Good interpersonal skills especially in managing differing viewpoints and objectives of internal stakeholders
- Good presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals/recommendations
