Director, Educational Programmes and Events, Asia-Pacific
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The core functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Program/Project Management
- The role will be responsible for working with the Executive Director, global colleagues, volunteers, and members, to develop and oversee the delivery of a CASE Asia-Pacific education programme and event strategy in support of member institutions and in line with annual operational targets.
- Identify and monitor best practices in adult learning and understand member institution’s learning objectives.
- Develop and maintain an annual calendar for educational program curriculum.
- Serve as project lead for 20-30 in-person and online events per year including conferences, workshops, master classes and institutes.
- Excel in relationship management, identifying, cultivating, managing, and stewarding 100+ faculty and volunteers, including CASE Trustees, Council Members, and Commissioners, to help deliver education programmes and events for the Asia-Pacific region.
- Work with volunteer leadership to develop and design program structures, content, and value- added components for in-person and online programs.
- Manage platform and venue selection/RFP/contracting process, to ensure programs are delivered via modes, locations and properties that provide the best ROI for CASE.
- Direct on-site activities as the primary CASE representative, managing all areas of conference/program operations, demonstrating impeccable judgment, ensuring event best practices, fiscal responsibility, contractual obligations; and interpersonal relationships with hotel representatives, vendors, and speaker logistics.
- Exhibit a high level of interpersonal skills and professionalism, serving as an ambassador for CASE as you interact with 1000+ volunteers, members, and delegates annually.
- Manage speaker engagement, attendee communications, and post conference evaluation and analysis, including year-on-year comparisons. Provide timely and meaningful program feedback to volunteers and CASE staff.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach, maintaining knowledge of markets, new products, program delivery modes, as well as marketplace conditions, enabling programs to maintain a competitive advantage. Employ data and market research available from CASE to make informed decisions.
- Work proactively with the marketing and communications team to promote conferences, workshops, masterclasses, institutes, and events.
- As part of a global professional family of program managers, engage in collaborative work to enhance CASE education programs globally.
- Travel throughout the Asia-Pacific region as required, approximately 30%, subject to prevailing travel restrictions and guidelines, to execute education programs, requiring irregular hours and some weekend travel.
- Responsible for managing 1 staff to support programme development and delivery.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Fiscal Management/Budget Responsibilities/Judicious Use of Resources
- Assist Executive Director and General Manager to develop, manage, track, and reconcile budgets for educational programmes and events.
- Monitor budget regularly and provide forecasts as requested.
- Exercise fiscal responsibility in the utilisation of all resources.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Education and Experience:
- Minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree
- Ten years or more years’ experience in volunteer management, education program development and events – in-person and online, conference design, meeting logistics, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training required.
- Progressive responsibility in management experience in an educational, member/volunteer-driven environment shall be an advantage.
- Advancement related experience highly desirable.
- Experience in instructional design for adult learners highly desirable.
2. Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Excellent leadership and relationship building skills
- Superior English with additional Asian language an advantage
- Possess good technical knowledge of MS applications, web applications. Expertise in AI applications is desirable.
- Ability to work independently, proactively and with minimal administrative support and supervision
- Good analytical skills and adaptation to new technology
- Tact and sensitivity in communicating with people from varied national, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds
- Knowledge of print production and marketing
- High productivity and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrate a positive approach in demanding situations
- Flexibility to work off-site and irregular hours, as required for events
- Regular travelling throughout the Asia-Pacific region is required
