Director - Engineering - IT

Role & Responsibilities:

- Engineering Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

- Technology Strategy: Define and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with business objectives, product strategy, and organizational goals.

- Architecture & Design: Oversee system architecture, technical design, code quality, scalability, security, and performance optimization.

- Project Delivery: Drive end-to-end execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.

- Team Management: Build and scale engineering teams, establish clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.

- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Design, QA, DevOps, and Business teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

- Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for coding standards, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, automation, and software development processes.

- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to improve engineering productivity and product capabilities.

- Operational Excellence: Monitor system reliability, availability, performance, and technical debt while driving continuous improvements.

- Stakeholder Management: Communicate engineering progress, risks, dependencies, and strategic decisions to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.

- Budget & Resource Planning: Manage engineering resources, technology investments, and hiring plans to support business growth.

- Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable security standards, data protection requirements, and engineering governance practices.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- 7 - 12 years of overall experience in software engineering, technology development, or related technical roles, with demonstrated engineering leadership experience.

- Proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex, scalable software products or platforms.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and modern development practices.

- Hands-on experience with relevant programming languages, frameworks, databases, APIs, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and software delivery management.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical decision-making skills.

- Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, retain, and develop high-performing engineering teams.

- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Ability to balance technical excellence, delivery timelines, business priorities, and resource constraints.

- Experience managing multiple projects, technical roadmaps, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
