Onward Worldwide is hiring a Director for QA Software Testing for our client, an emerging leader in IT services and software development with a global client base. As they scale, they need a leader who will make quality a competitive advantage.

You will own the QA strategy, the testing teams, and release confidence across web, mobile, API, and DevOps projects.

What you'll do

• Define the QA strategy, test governance, and quality standards across all projects

• Lead and grow teams of QA managers, test engineers, and automation specialists

• Build and scale test automation across web, mobile, and API platforms

• Embed testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

• Own release readiness, defect management, and quality metrics

• Partner with engineering, project management, and clients to meet quality expectations

• Introduce performance, security, and regression testing practices

• Drive hiring, performance management, and career development

• Report on quality metrics, risks, and improvements to senior leadership

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years in software QA and testing, with 5+ years leading multiple teams

• Proven record building and running QA functions for complex client projects, ideally in IT outsourcing or services

• Strong experience in test automation frameworks and tools [e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium]

• Solid grounding in API, performance, and regression testing [e.g., Postman, JMeter, k6]

• Working knowledge of Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps practices

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including with international clients

Bonus points

• ISTQB or other QA and testing certifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field

• Experience leading distributed or offshore QA teams

• Background in security testing or data and integration testing
