Onward is hiring a Director for Software Development for our client, an emerging leader in IT services and software development with a global client base. Their goal is to become a top IT outsourcing company in Asia, and this leader will help get them there.

You will own the strategy, the teams, and the delivery across web and mobile development, API integration, and DevOps.

What you'll do

• Set the software development strategy, roadmap, and architecture standards

• Lead and grow teams of managers, developers, and QA

• Own the full delivery lifecycle, from scoping to release and support

• Deliver projects on time, on budget, and beyond client expectations

• Work with executives and clients to turn business needs into technical solutions

• Build engineering best practices in code quality, security, CI/CD, and documentation

• Drive hiring, performance management, and career development

• Report on delivery metrics, team performance, and risks

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field

• 10+ years in software development, with 5+ years leading multiple teams

• Proven record delivering complex client projects, ideally in IT outsourcing or services

• Strong grounding in system architecture, cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), API design and integration, and DevOps

• Hands-on familiarity with [tech stack: e.g., .NET, Java, Node.js, Python, React]

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including with international clients

Bonus points

• Master's degree or certifications (PMP, AWS/Azure Architect, or similar)

• Experience leading distributed or offshore teams

• Background in data management, systems integration, or IT consultancy
