Director, Fuel Procurement & Logistics
Summary
The Fuel Procurement and Logistics Director will oversee and manage the day-to-day duties for the Fuel Procurement Department, facilitate communication between fuel vendors and the company, assist in creating a positive team environment and be a responsible and dependable leader. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

• Excellent negotiation skills to appropriately advance the company’s agenda, as well as to successfully resolve commercial and/or technical disputes.
Job Duties
• Provide leadership, company-wide with respect to the fuel procurement process, contracting and vendor management.
• Communicate with vice presidents and directors to assure success of fuel purchasing and logistic decisions.
• Collaborate with other Allegiant departments (Accounting, Quality Assurance, Safety and Training, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Airport Services, Finance, OCC, Dispatch, etc.) as needed to support Fuel Management and Company objectives.
• Oversee the annual and ad hoc RFP processes; as well as implement sourcing strategies to support company goals and requirements.
• Manage the process of fuel supply and service contract terminations, expirations, extensions, and renewals.
• Complete contract review and/or preparation and negotiation, contract administration, maintenance, and adherence to company policies as well as legal and compliance requirements.
• Manage ITP contract increase disputes and negotiations.
• Develop, mentor, supervise, train, and lead the fuel team to meet the company’s goals, expectations, and deadlines.
• Ensure fuel is provided to Allegiant and affiliated airlines wherever needed by the company, reliably and economically.
• Collaborate and provide support to accounting with disputes and ensure timely corrections of any discrepancies.
• Oversee and ensure accurate contracted prices, terms, volume, and fees are maintained in the Fuel Management System.
• Manage and complete fuel tax research to ensure Allegiant’s sales and excise taxes are current and updated accordingly within the system; ensure tax credit opportunities are identified.
• Collaborate with QA and accounting; providing any required fuel vendor maintenance or QA audit forms for fuel vendor set-up.
• Maintain relationships with fuel suppliers, transportation companies, storage operators, into plane operators and airports, through regular communication.
• Track and complete market research and analyze competitors to gauge opportunities to reduce fuel costs.
• Oversee the fuel release process for ad-hoc charter, diversions, aircraft delivery and maintenance.
• Manage inventory levels at locations where the Company purchases fuel in bulk deliveries and ensure appropriate fuel capacity is maintained and available to mitigate issues; identify locations where fuel capacity expansion is needed.
• Implement policies, procedures and controls that ensure reliable supply and that limit inventory risk.
• Optimize utilization of the company’s fuel infrastructure, including its rolling stock.
• Recommend and implement strategic courses of actions to resolve various fuel operational circumstances affecting company performance to ensure KPI’s are met.
• Provide fuel usage reports, cost summaries and projections to other allegiant departments.
• Manage pipeline and truck scheduling.
• Manage distribution of weekly system wide contracted fuel pricing; Platts, Argus, and OPIS indexes.
• Attend, represent, and participate in fuel consortium meetings to ensure that the airports fuel farm or distribution system is operated safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
• Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities as appropriate.
• Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
• Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
