About the Role:

As the Director of Global Power Market Analysis, you will lead a dedicated team of analytical professionals within McCloskey by OPIS, a Dow Jones company, which delivers critical news, price reporting, data, and macro research across the energy, coal, and metals supply chains. Based in Singapore, you will take ownership of the strategic direction and execution of our global power and electricity market coverage, ensuring our methodologies and market outlooks remain best-in-class. In this leadership capacity, you will report directly to the Vice President of Global Energy Analytics.

You Will:

  • Establish and drive the operational plans for the global power analysis sector, ensuring research initiatives align with broader business objectives and product timelines.

  • Serve as a prominent market authority, regularly delivering high-impact insights on the energy transition, regulatory shifts, and commercial market dynamics to executive clients and industry conferences.

  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of sophisticated global power demand, generation technology, and price forecasting models.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-commodity analysis teams—including gas, coal, carbon, and renewables—to synthesize integrated, comprehensive energy market assessments.

  • Partner with the commercial and sales organizations to identify growth opportunities, support client retention, and execute complex, bespoke consulting engagements.

  • Mentor a regional team of specialized analysts, overseeing their research outputs and fostering their career development within energy commodities

You Have:

  • At least 12 years of experience within the power, electricity, or broader energy industries, specifically focusing on market analysis, utilities asset management, or commodity research.

  • Advanced technical proficiency in quantitative tools and data infrastructure, including expert-level MS Excel and VBA, alongside practical application of Python and PowerBI.

  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing and developing a team of professional analysts or researchers.

  • Deep knowledge of international power market regulations and cross-commodity operational dynamics, such as coal-to-gas fuel switching mechanics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related quantitative field of study, or equivalent experience.
