About the Position: This position is located at SHAPE, Belgium. SHAPE is the Supreme Headquarters of Allied Powers in Europe.The surrounding area is rural with other cities within 30 minutes drive. The base is in central Belgium with the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France, and Germany within a day's drive; the United Kingdom is also easily accessible via ferry or chunnel. The base is small but offers most amenities provided by larger installations.
Serves as the J1 Director for the Allied Special Operations Forces Command (SOFCOM).
Responsible for developing policies, programs and positions for a wide range of NATO manpower and personnel support functions impacting NATO Special Operations throughout the world.
As a Division Head and senior staff officer, serves as a key advisor to senior leadership and actively participates in SOFCOM’s management, executive boards, and committees.
Analyzes organizational structure and oversees workforce planning initiatives to ensure the headquarters is effectively staffed to meet organizational objectives.
