Utz Quality Foods is currently seeking a Director, Human Resources to join our team. This is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all HR Generalists supporting the Supply Chain function across multiple campuses and manufacturing locations. This role will directly manage the HR teams at our Hanover campus, Wilkes-Barre, Kings Mountain, and Grand Rapids locations, as well as eight manufacturing facilities and associated logistics operations.

This leader will partner closely with Supply Chain leadership, Plant Managers, and corporate teams to develop and implement HR strategies that enhance employee engagement, operational excellence, compliance, and talent development across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Human Resources Generalists across Hanover, Wilkes-Barre, Kings Mountain, Grand Rapids, and eight manufacturing facilities and logistics centers.
  • Serve as a strategic HR business partner to Supply Chain leadership, providing guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and employee relations.
  • Oversee retention and employee engagement strategies across all facilities.
  • Implement consistent HR processes, policies, and programs across locations to ensure legal compliance and operational alignment.
  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive, safe, and high-performance work environment within manufacturing and logistics operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as food manufacturing-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, FSMA).
  • Champion leadership development, training programs, and succession planning initiatives for supply chain employees.
  • Lead efforts related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within supply chain functions.
  • Analyze HR metrics and provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate as an active member of the HR leadership team, contributing to broader HR initiatives and enterprise-wide projects.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with a strong focus in manufacturing or supply chain environments.
  • 3+ years of experience in a multi-site HR leadership role, preferably overseeing multiple plants/facilities.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth organizations preferred.
  • Deep understanding of HR practices in a manufacturing/logistics environment, including talent management, employee relations, training, compliance, and safety.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to develop and mentor HR teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
